The Class: Barre Sculpt
Our signature class and the foundation of the Barre Belle technique. Perfect for clients of any level, this 60min experience sequences a combo of energizing strength and flexibility training for a full body workout that burns fat, exercises the heart and targets all areas of the body: from the arms and abs, to thighs, seat and back. This head-to-toe training is done barefoot. Posture, balance and alignment occur from the ground up and will translate through your entire kinetic chain (ankle-knee-hip-lower back). There is a strong focus on form and consciousness which connects the core-to-breath-to-mental focus; accelerating results and creating deep, dynamic strength. Exercises are coordinated with current/fun music. No previous dance or barre experience is required.
We built most of what you’ll see in the space and if we couldn’t do it, we found expert craftsmen who could. Every detail has been lovingly thought through to create a welcoming, energizing, and inspiring environment: high ceilings, natural lighting and a thumping sound system. Here you will look and feel like a rockstar.
Our studio floor is cork: offering comfortable barefoot movement. Did you know that cork is anti-microbial, hypoallergenic, and environmentally friendly?
We're located at 113 N. La Brea, in the new District La Brea between Beverly and 1st. The street is lined with fantastic resteraunts and shops for you to peruse pre or post workout. There is even a parking lot adjacent to our building so you won't have to stress about finding a spot.
We provide the perfect environment for your workout experience: train hard, feel challenged, and be a part of our community.
If it's your first class, please arrive 15 minutes early so you can complete your registration and get comfortable in the space.
Pre-register for your classes online so that we know you’re on your way.
The warm-up of each class is important which is why no late arrival is permitted. If the door to the studio is closed, we'll be happy to reschedule you.
Follow the instructions consistent with your personal abilities. Refrain from comparing your skill level to others in class. This is your workout and we’ll help you progress at a pace that’s right for you. Welcome to a safe place where judgment is not permitted.
Wear comfortable, stretchable clothes.
Bare feet are encouraged. If, for any reason, this is not right for you please wear ‘grippy socks’ or ballet slippers.
We provide small towels and have filtered water (feel free to bring in your water bottle to fill up).
We provide top-of-the-line mats. Maximum cushioning supports your spine and joints while the triple heat-sealed surface allows sweat and water to bead right off. They’re non-toxic and antimicrobial.
We have shelving space in the studio on which you can store your things during class.

Marnie Alton, founder and creator of the BARRE BELLE technique, has studied dance and movement since the age of 8. She moved from Canada to Los Angeles almost 10 years ago and was immediately drawn to 'barre fitness': a workout that builds strength and flexibility based on many of the same disciplines she learned as a dancer. Marnie was one of the original instructors at the Bar Method, and while teaching there for the last 9 years has trained hundreds of celebrities, athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike. After almost a decade in the fitness industry, Marnie believes that feeling powerful and confident in your own skin is what it's all about. She developed BARRE BELLE as an effective way to achieve this goal.
